❤️ These two sisters are the sweetest. From what I've observed over the years, it seems there's always one with spunk and one with a calmer disposition.

I didn't have any sisters growing up. At times, I've wondered what life would have been like living with one. Other times, I'm pretty confident I had it really good living with three brothers! 👦🏻👧🏻👦🏻👦🏻
I have plenty of stories to tell (I was often the target of the good natured torment) 😬😂 and I know how to play baseball ⚾️ (not softball...it was considered "too girly" for my brothers). 😉

👧🏻👦🏼 That's what I tell myself before any photo session involving children. This was a special moment as we were wrapping up this family's session. Who knew this little girl had a bug collection at home?! This treasure went home with her! 🪲

👦🏼🐯 Does anyone else miss Calvin & Hobbes? ❤️

📰 I was feeling a little nostalgic this week, remembering all the fun I used to have on Sunday afternoons reading the latest comic from the series.. Funny how life's little pleasures are missed once they're no longer a regular part of our lives. Thankfully, these gems are preserved in books and I'm going to be intentional this weekend, spending a while savoring the humor and wisdom of Calvin & Hobbes. It's been too long.

🎞️ I find old photos are a bit this way for me too. So many memories that evoke emotion and momentary flashbacks. 📚 I have albums filled with a variety of childhood memories of my own as well as our children's that I love to revisit every now and then. 🥰 This winter, I want to begin creating some nicer albums using @blurbbooks so that I can add my own words to the memories in the photos. I remember going through some of my grandparents' black and white photos with them and, if they hadn't been present to ask what the history was, there was no way to know. 🤷‍♀️ I'm determined to record a few stories to go along with my family's photos. It's often interesting to hear the perspective from someone who was there and it feels like sometimes I'm much better at taking photographs 📸 than telling the little details of the stories they capture. 🤔 The funny thing is, I love to write, but don't allow myself the time to do it. I have to remind myself to...

🍂 It's amazing how quickly the leaves fall when it turns cold and the wind blows a little harder! 🍁

📸 Fall sessions are winding down and I will be going into full editing mode in the next few days. 👩🏻‍💻 ☕️ There's something I love about settling in with a warm cup of coffee, a cozy blanket and my computer as the days turn colder.

🏃🏻‍♀️October is a bit crazy for photographers, but it's so full of energy and I'm gearing up to deliver some sweet memories! ❤️ I'll share some favorites in the days ahead as galleries are completed and families receive their finished images for the upcoming holidays. 🦃 🎄

☀️ I've loved all the beautiful sunlight we've been getting for mini sessions this fall! We're not always this lucky, especially in October when, often times, rain begins to move in.
